News & Publications

SIRE 2.0

The new vessel inspection regime, SIRE 2.0, will more accurately report on the quality of a vessel and its crew (on an ongoing basis) and indicate future likely performance, using enhanced tools, strengthened governance processes and more in-depth reporting outcomes, following a risk-based approach.
The new SIRE 2.0 regime has been operational since September 2024. We have conducted full gap analyis of the existing Integrated Management Systems and procedures in order to satisfy the new requirements as per SIRE 2.0. We have prepared and issued new Pre Inspection Checklist to help the crew and management companies for good checks and preparations prior SIRE 2.0 inspections. We succesfully conducted and attended SIRE 2.0 inspections and achieved an average result as 3 observations per inspection. We have conducted crew training and coaching to improve their SIRE 2.0 knowledge and skills.

About TMSA

The Tanker Management and Self-Assessment (TMSA) programme provides companies with a means to improve and measure their own safety management systems.
The programme encourages companies to assess their safety management systems (SMS) against key performance indicators (KPIs) and provides the minimum standard expected (level 1) plus three levels of increasing standards or performance. The self-assessment results can be used by operators to develop phased improvement plans that support continuous improvement of their ship management systems. Companies are encouraged to regularly review their self-assessment results and develop plans for improvement.
Aligning policies and procedures with industry best practice helps companies to improve and attain increasingly higher standards of safety and pollution prevention management.

We have very advanced experience and skills in reviewing and upgrading the management companies procedures and processes to meet the highest TMSA standards. We have conducted many TMSA reviews and Audits in line with the Oil Majors´ standards and expectations.
